About Kara

I live outside of Aspen, Colorado, with my husband and two children. A transplant from New Hampshire, I now consider Colorado “home.” My family and I spend many weekends exploring our state, and we continually find fabulous spots that amaze us. Some of our favorite things to do in Colorado include biking through Glenwood Canyon, visiting Great Sand Dunes National Monument, camping at the state parks and soaking in area hot springs. When the kids aren’t in tow, my husband and I enjoy snowshoeing and hiking some steeper mountain trails, checking out new chic restaurants (there are so many!) and booking weekend getaways at some of the state’s nicer resort hotels.

I’m a longtime journalist who has covered travel (including many stories about Colorado attractions) in Every Day with Rachael Ray, Working Mother, Aspen Sojourner, 5280, Mountain Parent and Chesapeake Family magazines. Online you can find my travel pieces at GoColorado.com, BellaOnline.com and Suite101.com. Learn more about me and my work here.
